About Correy

Bio

I have been a teacher all my life and became certified in 1991 in New York. I have taught second grade and fifth grade in NYC and special education in Denver for two years while I worked on by Masters in special education. I am currently a first grade teacher with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools; where I have learned and implemented many new skills and teaching methods.

I have been a teacher all my life and became certified in 1991 in New York. I have taught second grade and fifth grade in NYC and special education in Denver for two years while I worked on by Masters in special education. I am currently a first grade teacher with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools; where I have learned and implemented many new skills and teaching methods.
While teaching in different communities. I have always provided tutoring free of charge for my students before and after school. I have also tutored children in the community including children with special needs and language barriers. I am committed to an individual's success by taking time for students to master the material necessary for them to achieve life-long classroom success. I am a highly effective teacher with experience in multiple grade levels and subjects. I frequently use real world examples to keep the lessons interesting and exciting for the students. I can individualize this approach to highlight your child's strengths. I have tutored children for years and I love working with them one-to-one or in small groups. I can create an environment and lessons which will help your child absorb new information and retain it for future use.
