I have had religious classes in all but 3 years of education. Attending parochial schools required Bible classes. Classes at Marymount, and Loma Linda University required several classes in religious studies, world religions, and religious interventions in clinical settings. Following graduate school, I engaged in a 5 year religious study, resulting in a lay lifetime profession.

Served as the Evaluator for a Veterans Court. Regularly used several statistical computer programs, as was available with each program.

Anatomy

See expertise evidenced by high score on the exam. I am certified in this area. I was an EMT for 12 years, and was an Advanced First Aid teacher for about 15 years, Additionally, my neurological studies include the head and spine, and all the extensions and movements commanded by that system. I am adapt at the subject.

Psychology

Dr. Romano received her Psy.D. from Loma Linda University, Department of Psychology in the School of Science and Technology, and holds a graduate Certification in Humanitarian Assistance (CHA), through Loma Linda University Department of Global Health, School of Public Health. She completed her practicum at California Institution for Women (CIW), and clinical internship at Argosy University’s Correctional Psychology Training Program in Illinois at the Stateville and Dwight Correctional Centers. Dr. Romano completed a two year post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at the START/SART programs in San Bernardino, working with “at risk” children aged 0-5 and their families. She is experienced in adult and child clinical and forensic assessment and treatment, with expertise working with the most difficult populations. She has been teaching grade school students since 1996, and college and graduate level students since 2006 in Counseling, Clinical and Forensic Psychology. She chairs and sits on dissertation committees, and serves as a scholarly reviewer for a nationwide forensic psychology journal. Pro Bono, she served as the "methodologist" for a large jail study with women and men who have young children. Additionally, her pro bono work includes the position of "Evaluator" for the Veterans Court in San Bernardino County. Dr. Romano has a special expertise in trauma, and is a Fellow, and Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, through the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and the National Center for Crisis Management. Finally, Dr. Romano has been an American Red Cross volunteer for over 30 years.

ADHD

I have extensive experience working with people who are diagnosed with ADHD. In my clinical work, I have assessed greater than a hundred clients with an ADHD referral. Additionally, I have dealt with adults and children in the classroom, providing 1:1 for children received special accommodations, teaching children in special education classes. Additionally, I have had adults diagnosed with ADHD in my college and university classes. I have a Master’s in General Psychology, a Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology. Did you know there are different types of attention deficits, each having interventions that more successfully treat that type? Sensory processing disorders, severe allergies, sleep problems, and other processing disorders can mimic, or if concurrent, make treatment less successful. When we discover the subtype of attention deficit, or the presence or absence of another disorder, the efficacy of the intervention is increased.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have extensive experience working with people who are diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum In my clinical work, I have assessed children referred. Additionally, I have dealt with adults and children in the classroom, providing 1:1 for children, adolescents and adults on the Autistic Spectrum. In college classes, I have had students in the mild range of the Spectrum. I have also had several students with Aspergers while teaching.

Dyslexia

I have extensive experience working with people who are diagnosed with Dyslexia, letter referral, left/right confusion, balance, and other associated difficulties. In my clinical work, I have assessed male and female children and adolescents. I also have dyslexia in my family.

Special Needs

Experience as a substitute teacher in grade school almost exclusively assigned to special needs classes. Eight years as a research assistant in a pediatric neurodevelopmental clinic, and rotations in pediatric word in a children’s hospital. Work with adults and children assessing and treating special needs.
