Hi! I'm Miss Lori! I can help your child learn to love reading and writing. I've taught all ages, from 2 to 92 in beginning phonics all the way to college level writing. After you sign up for tutoring, I'll stay in close contact to make sure you have a great experience!

For as long as I can remember, I've loved to teach. With a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Indiana University, a PhD in Journalism and Creative Writing and over 30 years of teaching experience, I'm passionate about creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young learners. I believe in fostering individual creativity and instilling a lifelong love of learning. I've taught in public, private and homeschool settings. I led AWANA and a youth group for three years. I've taught in person and online. I worked for the Institute of Children's Literature, training adults how to write fiction and nonfiction for publication. I also led several of my own classes in topics such as screenwriting, novel writing and short stories.

Outside of the classroom, I love reading, working on my novels or spending time with my two grandgirls and my two miniature dachshunds.
