26 years teaching physics in high schools, and always getting better at it. NYS Regents Physics, AP Physics 1 & 2, AP Physics C: Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism. I still enjoy learning physics--the history of its ideas and discoveries, the many applications and technologies, the clever problem-solving approaches, etc. I have had my share of successes but I also remember times when I was completely lost, and many times when I knew a lot about a topic but was missing that key fact or approach or assumption that would enable me to solve the types of problems associated with that topic. As a teacher, I have always enjoyed diagnosing those difficulties and resolving them.

My strengths are subject knowledge (Masters's degree in Physics) and addressing student questions. I like to stay on point. I can explain things in multiple ways. I am patient and I can listen to what a student is saying or trying to say.

If motivation is the problem I can try. Sometimes I can light that spark. I am relatively better, though, at helping a motivated student who is able to articulate a lot of questions. I can teach a whole physics topic from start to finish, but I think it is more efficient to address the things that have been taught but don't quite make sense yet, again with questioning from the student.

David knows Physics

My son said the material is starting to make better sense. David is a great compliment to my son's teacher, patiently explaining and building on the teacher's lesson. Helps to solidify what he is learning and to reinforce.

Daughter says she now understands motion graphs!

We are happy with David’s tutoring. It’s our second session and both times, HS daughter has come away happy that she understood the topic much better after tutoring!

Very helpful and patient with my son

He took his time and helped my son to understand his lesson. He also sent follow-up materials. Would definitely ask for his help again! He taught some complex theories that my son needed to understand for AP Physics
