I have always enjoyed teaching and tutoring. Even when I studied for my own classes, I would always study in groups and would help teach others concepts I had already mastered. My first official teaching position was as a Teacher's Assistant at Kalamazoo College in General Chemistry my senior year at Kalamazoo College. My job was to lead a group of 10 students through a review/homework session once a week. This job was both interesting and enjoyable and I was able to help students really understand the basics of chemistry. A passion of mine is taking difficult concepts and rewording or rephrasing them so that anyone can understand them. My goal in tutoring is always to find the language that best works for the student, and use that to bring them to full understanding.

Since March 2015, I have been tutoring exclusively. I began as a tutor at Mally ACT in West Bloomfield, Michigan. They are a State renowned ACT/SAT/AP and subject tutoring company. Since moving to North Carolina, I used the skills that I tempered at Mally ACT and have added a ton more. Private tutoring on my own has allowed me to completely master tutoring the ACT, SAT and GRE along with all of high school math and science and college level chemistry courses.

If you are interested in my services in any way, please feel free to contact me. I am flexible, friendly, easy to talk to and excited to help you with your tutoring needs.

NOTICE: I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. This means if we have a lesson scheduled and you cancel it within 24 hours of the start time, I will still charge for 1 hour as a cancellation fee.

GRE

GRE

I have been test prep tutoring for over five years now full-time. I did very well on the GRE when I took it and have since helped many students do much better on this exam. Standardized tests take a very specific mindset to do well on them, and I can show students how to approach these tests in a better way.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

In undergraduate studies, I was one class short of a Math minor. I spent most of my full time working schedule in 2015 tutoring math and science for high school students. This included Algebra I and all of the algebra basics. I can watch a student do problems and easily see where they go wrong and how best to fix their methods.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I was 1 class short of a math minor in college and had to learn and use a broad range on math getting my degrees in chemistry. I have spent a lot of time with conics (parabolas, cirlces, etc.) and the rest of the Algebra II curriculum tutoring both this class directly along with tutoring math for the ACT, SAT and GRE.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I have two degrees in Chemistry (Master's and Bachelor's) and have mastered chemistry at a high level. Chemistry was the focus on my academic career and I have many different ways to explain the concepts to students, so that they can better understand them. I have experience as a teaching assistant and a tutor working with students to do better in chemistry.
Geometry,

Geometry

Between my high level of math coursework and many chemistry classes, I've had to work with many complex and interesting geometric problems. I have also tutored geometry students for the last 2 years.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

In undergraduate studies in chemistry at Kalamazoo College, I was just 1 class short of a math minor. I have had to learn very difficult math, but in recent years have been focusing mostly on the fundamentals with high school and middle school students. I have tutored a lot for ACT and SAT and those maths all rely fully on a flawless prealgebra base, so I have had to find and fix any algebra errors that arise in the process.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I was only 1 class short of a math minor and have been tutoring high school math for over a year now full-time. This class has some subjects that confuse students quite a bit. I have methods that make the subjects much easier to understand.
