I also taught math to elementary and middle schoolers through the Cambridge Math Circle. Through these positions, I have gained a strong background working with a wide variety of students and ages.
I am currently a research assistant at the Harvard Forest. Through this position, I mentor and tutor summer students in coding (R and Python) and ecological concepts. My career path has provided me with a strong foundation in biology and ecology, and these happen to be my favorite subjects to tutor!
As a first-generation, low-income student from a rural area, I have a unique understanding of the test taking and college application process, as I navigated it all by myself. I raised my ACT score by 2 points through the implementation of test taking strategies, earning a final score of 35 (36 English, 35 Reading, 34 Math, 34 Science). I also earned a 1440 on the SAT. I am confident that I can coach you to the test score and school of your dreams!
I was accepted into 10 of the 13 universities I applied to (including Harvard, Brown, and WashU) and waitlisted at 2. I am a QuestBridge scholar, a Jack Kent Cooke semifinalist, a National Merit Scholar, a Horatio Alger State Scholar, an Elks MVS State Scholar, and a Presidential Scholar semifinalist. During my college career, I was a semifinalist for the Rhodes, Marshall, and Fulbright scholarships, and my senior thesis was awarded Harvard's prestigious Hoopes prize.
I hope to have the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your needs and to see if I am the right fit! I bring an open-mind and patience to every tutoring session to help ease frustrations and to create a comfortable environment for learning.
