Hello, my name is Eddie! I graduated summa cum laude from my university with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Electrical Emphasis. I now work as a full time electrical engineer while tutoring on the side. I have a love for all things STEM and enjoy building new skills in my field of work. Over time, my love for STEM has transformed into a passion for helping others develop confidence and competence in whatever STEM subject they are currently engaged in, whether that be for school, personal interest, or other reasons.
I have roughly 2 years of tutoring experience at the high school and college level. As an electrical engineering student, I tutored as a TA for several engineering courses that I had taken the year prior - physics, calculus, and linear circuits & electronics to name a few. Most of this TA work involved helping professors guide students through labs and answering on-the-spot questions during lab periods or lectures. I also tutored at a local high school near my college for a year where I helped 9th through 12th grade students with math & science homework during open periods or study halls. Usually, I would work with groups of 2-4 students at a time, beginning by reviewing lessons and explaining concepts, then following with a few straightforward examples before beginning homework. The subjects I tutored at the high school level included Algebra I & II, precalculus, & physics.
My goal as a tutor is to provide students with the tools or resources they need to succeed in their subject(s), and this means being flexible with my teaching methods because everyone learns differently. Whether it's discussing subject concepts, working through example problems, or providing feedback on practice problems already worked, my goal is to be flexible so my students feel comfortable and confident while learning. Please reach out if you have any questions or wish to schedule a lesson with me. I'm excited to take my tutoring skills online and help students on Wyzant!
