About Peter

Bio

My experience in tutoring spans a wide variety of subjects and disciplines. I hold a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and undergraduate degrees in Biology and Mathematics. I have a 10+ year history of success guiding high school and college students to A’s in all levels of their Math and Science courses.

I specialize in AP Calculus (AB and BC) and AP Physics, and my recent graduate work has allowed me to familiarize myself with the current topics covered in college-level math and...

My experience in tutoring spans a wide variety of subjects and disciplines. I hold a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and undergraduate degrees in Biology and Mathematics. I have a 10+ year history of success guiding high school and college students to A’s in all levels of their Math and Science courses.

I specialize in AP Calculus (AB and BC) and AP Physics, and my recent graduate work has allowed me to familiarize myself with the current topics covered in college-level math and science courses through Differential Equations and beyond. As an engineer, I use the principles from these courses in my everyday work.

As for standardized tests, I have helped students achieve their goals of admission to Ivy League schools and in receiving scholarship awards (without taking the tests for them or lying about being on the rowing team) by teaching the proven strategies for the ACT and SAT. I have also advised students taking the GRE and GMAT in order to secure competitive spots in prestigious graduate programs across the country.

My most valuable quality, however, is my ability to relate to students of all ages, and to make even the most difficult subjects easily understood.

This summer, the only way I was able to successfully get through my online college statistics course was with Peter's patient demeanor and support. He is very flexible and would always go out of his way to make sure I truly understood the subject matter. Peter is very knowledgeable about many subjects, and had a way of making such a dry class more engaging and enjoyable to learn about. He is clearly passionate about his students, and cares about their successes. Without Peter, I do not believe I would have been able to stick with such a rigorous course load during the summer months (especially online), and he gave me the confidence and ability to not only stick with it, but pass with flying colors! I cannot recommend Peter enough, and could easily go on and on as to how grateful I am for his patience, intelligence, effective teaching style, reliance, sense of humor, flexibility, and overall assistance.

Great tutor!

I had to take a college level calculus 2 course and I started struggling so I went with Peter for tutoring after hearing about him from a friend. He communicated the material extremely well and made even the most difficult material easily understood. He works through the material quickly and thoroughly so you get your times worth.
