Hello there. My name is Dillon H. I tutored throughout my college career (all four years) at a local school and it remains the best job I've ever had- and so, I'd like to do it more. Hello there. My name is Dillon H. I tutored throughout my college career (all four years) at a local school and it remains the best job I've ever had- and so, I'd like to do it more. I am a Mensa member. I have an IQ of 140 and a eidetic memory, and I was always "the brilliant but lazy" student in school. I'd like to think this makes me qualified to motivate students of similar prerogative to become brilliant but hardworking. I've taken 14+ years of piano (always enjoyed composing more than practicing my teacher's homework), was nominated to be tutor of the year at my college's tutoring program (and more importantly was my school's favorite tutor), and am at the end of the day, just someone who loves helping people who realize that a desire to learn is the most important quality to attain in life- or help them realize it. I took several theatre courses in college, and participated in theatre and film extracurricular clubs. I was a professional stage and screen actor in Los Angeles for 2 years, now in NY for 6 years. I've taken classes and read literature on most larger schools of acting technique (Stanislavski, Boleslavski, Meisner, Strasberg, Adler, Hagen, Morris, Guskin) and voice and body (Alexander, Linklater, ect). Dillon is very patient teacher.

Couple months ago, My husband and I decided to put our 6 year old daughter under Dillon’s tutelage based on his qualifications that seem very impresive. Do doubt, His qualifications precede him! He is very patient and knows just what’s appropriate teaching approach to my daughter’s learning ability. At day one, she is clueless how to play piano. Today, she can already play basic piano pieces. My daughter looks forward to seeing Dillon every Sundays piano lesson. To be honest, I’m kinda on the side of being “stage mom” at times, and playing piano is something I would wish for my daughter to learn. Dillon is very understanding and supportive. I once asked him if we can extend my daughter’s lesson hours, but Dillon said, it is not necessary at that time because we’ll just spend more paying him and said, what my daughter needs is just practice. Dillon is logical and wont take advantage just to earn more. My husband and I appreciate it that about him. If in the future that my daughter will be needing an academic tutoring, with NO hesitation, Dillon will be our go-to tutor. He is professional, and again, very patient and polite/well mannered person.

Great instructor and refreshing experience

Dillon is my 3rd piano instructor. Unlike my previous instructors, he developed his own “Impulse Theory” that helps me understand how to interact with piano. This theory will lay out a solid foundation for me to tackle harder pieces. In addition, Dillon also spotted my bad habits instantly in the first class and focusing on correct them. Overall, I like this teaching style and efforts he put in.
