Welcome to my profile! I'm Sarah and I'm here to help you excel and cultivate your passion for science! I am currently a high school science teacher, teaching chemistry, physics, and AP Environmental Science. I am New York State certified in biology, chemistry, and general science 7-12. I have a Masters in Teaching from Stony Brook University and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology from Connecticut College. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors distinction. I have experience teaching chemistry and biology at the NYS Regents, AP, and college level both individually and with groups. I am a certified tutor by the College Reading and Learning Association through my undergraduate institution's tutoring training program. I also have significant laboratory research experience.
I love tutoring because I help give students the confidence they need not just to ace their exams, but to take their learning to a new level. I push students to think about science as it relates to their daily lives by emphasizing critical thinking and real life applications. Science isn't just isolated to our textbooks, it's around us and a part of everything we do!

One of the biggest barriers for students is the reputation science has for being difficult. I've noticed many people count themselves out before they've given themselves a chance to love science. I'm here to help you build your confidence as well as your grades! I promise even if you don't pursue science, I will boost your confidence for tackling any problem life can throw at you.
