Bio

Throughout my career, I have achieved many interesting and diverse things: I have worked on cutting edge NASA imaging systems, innovated new combustion engine technologies for Cummins, played saxophone on two Grammy-nominated albums, coded video games and artificial intelligence algorithms, and co-wrote several screenplays, three of which were optioned by Hollywood production companies. However, despite my successes, my greatest joy still comes from sharing my knowledge and igniting a passion...

Throughout my career, I have achieved many interesting and diverse things: I have worked on cutting edge NASA imaging systems, innovated new combustion engine technologies for Cummins, played saxophone on two Grammy-nominated albums, coded video games and artificial intelligence algorithms, and co-wrote several screenplays, three of which were optioned by Hollywood production companies. However, despite my successes, my greatest joy still comes from sharing my knowledge and igniting a passion for learning in others.

My experience as a teacher spans over 15 years with an incredible track record for success. I believe everyone, and I mean everyone, has the capacity to learn and succeed, and I do my best to take subject material and make it as easy to understand, organize, retain, and execute on a test as possible. Unlike most tutors, who are either still in school or only recently graduated, I have immense industry and life experience, and can add immense value to your education! For example, this year I have arranged for several of my students to have internships over the summer with either Hollywood production companies as script readers or engineering/tech companies.

I love meeting new people, figuring out how they learn best, and mentoring them to accomplish their life goals. I understand that my rate is quite high compared to most on this platform, but I truly believe that I bring tremendous value to your overall academic life and beyond. Great tutor!

We are so happy James responded to our needs. He is tutoring my daughter in both Pre Calc and Physics. He does a great job and explains it for her so that she understands it, which was not happening at school. After the first session my daugher said "Keep him! He explains it so well and doesn't make me feel like I'm stupid for having problems with these classes." High praise from a teen! If my son ends up needing help with Algebra I know who to ask for.
