For as long as I can remember, I've loved two things: words and teaching. During my time at the University of West Florida, both of these loves intensified. I worked in the Writing Lab, a service which aided students in their grammar and writing skills. I helped individual students of multiple disciplines and years of study, ranging from freshmen working on basic composition papers to graduate students working on theses and dissertations. I assisted them with grammar, formatting, structure, content, analysis, argumentation, and clarity. I also taught hour-long sessions on various grammar skills to groups of ten to twenty students. In both paper reading and grammar tutoring, I worked extensively with ESL students. Additionally, I helped high school students with papers and letters of intent. Because of my experiences at the Writing Lab, I have an extensive knowledge of grammar, various formatting styles, and writing techniques. More importantly, I know how to communicate this knowledge to students in a way that is easily accessible. While I will gladly proofread someone's paper, my services do not end there. I want to teach people the skills they need so that they can eventually be their own editors and proofreaders.
