As the oldest child in my family, a gained a love for teaching at a very young age. By the time I was 11 I was tutoring the other students in the classroom after I had finished my work, I began volunteering in elementary school classrooms and after school tutoring programs when I was 14 years old, and by the time I was 17, I was teaching my own summer class to kids ages four to twelve. Three years later, I am only a few semesters from receiving my degree in Childhood Education from Utah Valley University.

I am best with grades 3 and under, as that is what my major focuses on most. I am familiar with many common core teachings that parents are not able to help with. My primary goal as a tutor is to help the students understand in a way that works for them. I will work hard in the first week to determine what that is and adapt my teaching methods to best fit him/her.

I am a believer in constructive criticism and for that reason, I would love you and your child's feedback on things that are working and not working for you. I will never charge for a tutoring session that you are not satisfied with. I am relatively flexible, but would love to know if you will not be able to make a session and we can reschedule for another time.

I am willing to hold sessions where the student and parents are most comfortable. In the home works fine, however, an environment free from distractions is usually the best learning environment.

I began tutoring prealgebra and algebra 1 when I was 11 years old and excelling in my classes. More recently, my younger sister calls me at least once a week with homework questions, keeping my math skills sharp.

These have always been some of my best subjects, as I am a very big reader. I once had a friend that did not know how to read well and I was able to help him out some, despite the fact that he did not want to be tutored.

My major in school is Childhood Education, so I am in the process of learning a lot about how young minds think. I have also always been quite keen in the mat
