I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Geneva College. I am currently certified by the state of Connecticut to teach elementary grades K-6. I have worked in multiple public school districts around Fairfield County as a graduate intern, student teacher, certified tutor, and building substitute. During my time in these schools, I have worked with students' of all ages ranging from 5 years old to 7th and 8th graders in the intermediate school. I have taught all the academic subjects working one on one with many students as well as in small groups and entire classes. Most recently, I spent a week running a 3rd and 4th grade class as a certified substitute teacher during the summer school program. I also coach high school football and wrestling, and am very involved in athletics.

I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to work closely with a student and truly focus all my efforts on their success. I am able to learn about their academic strengths and weaknesses along with their individual learning style. This allows me to create activities and teach concepts that meet their needs, all while establishing a positive learning environment.

I am elementary certified by the state of Connecticut, which means I have passed the math certification test that allows me to teach elementary math. I also have a strong understanding of the Common Core State Standards in regards to mathematics. I am familiar with various elementary math curriculum's that are used by elementary schools and have a experience working with various technological resources such as IPad apps, LearnZillion activities, etc.
