I have been an allied health professional for 37 years. During that time I have worn many hats so to say. The hat worn most is that of teacher, mentor, advisor and tutor. I started tutoring in college starting out as a volunteer and then a paid. I was really quite busy as a tutor helping many allied health students.
After graduation I begin working as a radiographer. Explaining X-ray procedures to patients (in a understandable manor) was a major part of my job. Later in my career I became Clinical instructor with the University of Nevada Las Vegas. My job was to teach the hands on portion of their Radiography training. I affiliation with the University lasted 17 years.

During my time working in hospitals I accepted the responsibility for a new technology Surgical Navigation Technologies. A major responsibility was patient, staff and Physician education. Each group had its own specific levels of understanding. I was responsible for each level of education.
My last job was working for a major medical imaging equipment manufacturer. My job was applications teaching customers how to use their new imaging systems.
In addition to the above I worked as a super user during multiple go lives of hospital software systems. I have very much enjoyed each teaching opportunity I have had.

I learned early on. That tutoring required the tutor to be able to explain a concept in many different ways. I have developed ways to explain concepts in a way the student can understand. I start by accessing what they understand and where they are having trouble.

My subjects include Anatomy regular and cross sectional, Physiology, X-Ray Physics, Pathology, for allied health students. Including Radiologic Technology, Medical Technology, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Surgical technology, Dental Hygiene, Medical assisting, Paramedic and any other discipline.
In the past I have worked with premed students during their anatomy lab activities.
