Greetings,

My name is Dr. R. and I hope to help you on your journey through the lifelong process of education. I completed my undergraduate studies in 2006 (Desales University, BS biology, minor in chemistry) and my doctorate studies in 2012 (Palmer College of Chiropractic, Doctor of Chiropractic).

Currently, I work at a clinic in Bath and hold an adjunct faculty position at a university teaching human structure and function (anatomy).

I am comfortable tutoring math subjects up to pre-calculus and science subjects up to senior level courses in high school (aside from anatomy). I have team and one-on-one coaching experience in baseball (especially pitching) but would also give soccer and basketball lessons if needed. I am also very comfortable around Mac and PC-based computer systems and MS Office applications, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

I enjoy working with students and athletes, and love to see the improvements made by students/athletes as they work toward their goal. I am open to filling learning gaps a few times per year, or working weekly to achieve greater goals.

I wish you luck in the future. Please feel free to contact me for help.

Dr. Matthew R., DC

Study Skills

Study Skills

I currently teach Anatomy at the university level, but more importantly, I was a student; twice, in fact. While earning my undergraduate degree, I was also on the baseball team. Spending 20-40 hours/week on the field while working on my degree obviously required some major planning. While earning my Doctor of Chiropractic degree, I worked about 20 hours per week, while taking, on average, 30 credits per term (as opposed to the 12 credit hours most universities consider full-time).

Homeschool

Biology,

Biology

I studied biology and chemistry in undergrad and currently teach kinesiology and A&P to college sophomores and juniors. Biology is the foundation of physiology, and I use that in my clinical work everyday.

Anatomy,

Anatomy

I've been teaching anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology at the college level since 2012. As a chiropractor, I've taken numerous anatomy, physiology, and neurology courses over my career as well. I don't just teach it, I use it, and applying it everyday has helped me learn how to boil it down to the most important concepts.
Biochemistry,

Biochemistry

I've taken numerous biochemistry courses in my career, both in undergrad and in graduate school. Biochemistry covers the fundamentals of nutrition and human energy systems. As a chiropractor and sports performance specialist, I use nutrition to help my patients and power my athletes using this knowledge.

Very enthusiastic and effective

Our son needed some additional help with his honors biology course. After reviewing Matt's background and spending some time getting to know him during a brief phone conversation, we felt that he would be a good fit to help our son. After meeting him in person and observing his approach and enthusiasm when working with our son, we were even more confident that we made the right choice. He is personable, passionate and effective. We are very pleased with how our son has responded to Matt and would highly recommend him.

Great tutor!

Matt is a great guy! He is very easy to work with and helps you to understand the material on "your" level, no matter what the difficulty level. Tonight we went into great detail learning several functions, formulas, and tables with Excel for a class that I am taking. I highly recommend him for your next tutor!
