I have taught elementary, middle school, high school, and college students. As a music educator, I understand that each student is unique and possesses a unique learning skill-set. I teach music from a variety of directions: music theory, improvisation, music history, etc., and bring in a diverse range of disciplines such as color, architecture, dance, or mathematics.

As a facilitator of music, I challenge students by teaching a variety of music while reinforcing basic music skills and good technique. As a facilitator of history, I incorporate music from a variety of eras and genres. As a facilitator of growth, I have success in both educational and church settings. As a facilitator of care, I respect each individual and am judiciously mindful of the student's wellbeing and health.

Music is an emotional art; because of that, I attempt to teach students to engage both emotionally and intellectually with music. I attempt to raise students music vocabulary and give each student the ability to discuss music concepts intellectually. I also encourage students to explore the emotional side of music by exploring the text, which enhances each performance. It is my hope that students become well-rounded and thoughtful performers, composers, educators, and listeners. I strive to achieve the highest quality of music and it is my wish to inspire my students to achieve the same. I truly enjoy seeing the lightbulb of understanding illuminate in a students’ eyes and I love to see students succeed.
