I have a B.A. in chemistry and chemical engineering from University of California-Santa Barbara and recent post-graduate work in analytical chemistry at Rochester Institute of Technology. I am working on my master of arts in teaching at SUNY Empire State College, learning the most effective teaching methods from experienced teachers and students.

I have a B.A. in chemistry and chemical engineering from University of California-Santa Barbara and recent post-graduate work in analytical chemistry at Rochester Institute of Technology. I am working on my master of arts in teaching at SUNY Empire State College, learning the most effective teaching methods from experienced teachers and students.

I have real-world experience in chemistry at DuPont, Kodak, and the Monroe County Crime Lab. I am currently substitute teaching in eight school districts in Monroe County, grades 6-12. In addition, I teach AP Chemistry and am certified by the College Board.

As a new teacher, I am very familiar with the New York State curriculum and Regents. Highly recommend!

Great choice! My daughter has struggled with science for the last few years and we hope to make her Junior (and final) year of high school science a little bit easier on her. Karen explained concepts to my daughter in a way that she was able to easily understand. She is very knowledgeable, personable and communicative. My daughter was very happy with Karen and will continue to see her.

My 10th grade daughter had 10 lessons with Karen for tutoring in Regents Chemistry. We couldn’t have asked for a better match for her. Karen was so invested in my daughter’s progress and helped her go from failing—badly—to passing the course and scoring an 87 on the Regents exam! Karen has a thorough understanding of the curriculum and Regents requirements. She is patient, responsible, and was able to explain topics in a way that my daughter was able to fully comprehend and apply. She responds to lesson requests promptly, and went out of her way to make sure my daughter was prepared for exams and labs. They also worked on homework assignments, which alleviated hours of her trying to complete it on her own and made her feel confident to hand the work in. We would highly recommend Karen to any student who would like to be successful in Chemistry!

Very Pleased!

Our family hired Karen to help my daughter with her high school Chemistry class. After struggling with the class for the first couple of months we determined she needed some extra help. We found Karen's impressive profile on WyzAnt and saw she was also just one town away from us. Karen tutored our daughter for the remainder of her junior year and helped her achieve a B in the class. Our daughter was diagnosed with mono two weeks before exams and struggled to finish all her classwork and study for final while sick. Karen even did a review session the day before the Chemistry Regents to help our daughter prepare. Karen is very patient, reliable and flexible in scheduling. Since our daughter is involved in sports they would text each other to determine appointment times that worked around our hectic practice and game schedules.
