I'm a certified French teacher and have been in public education for 24 years. I have taught French at the middle school and high school levels. I believe in that all students can learn French; when given the right supports and resources. I use storytelling, conversations, and high-interest resources to make learning relevant and fun for my students. I've doubled enrollment in my high school French courses each of the past three years. I believe this is because students enjoy my teaching, my energy, and my care for the success of each learner I work with. I make the language comprehensible and acquisition becomes achievable. I focus on the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I've travelled to Paris three times in the past year and plan to go back as often as I can. I love the French language; but more importantly I love working with others who are interested in learning this language. I teach because I love helping others.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education French and a minor in Women's Studies. My master's degree is in Educational Leadership and my doctoral degree is in School Systems Leadership. I have a Pennsylvania teaching certificate (Level II) in French Education; Grades K-12 as well as Principal K-12 and a letter of eligibility to be a Superintendent in the state of Pennsylvania. I have spent 10 years of my 24 years in education as a school principal, but returned to the classroom five years ago. My heart is with teaching. It's my passion, my calling, and my joy.
