Thank you for considering me as your tutor! Preparing for a test like the LSAT is an overwhelming task for many people, especially when balanced alongside other responsibilities in life, but choosing the right tutor can smooth out the process considerably. I am highly accustomed to working with students at various points in their LSAT prep: some students come to me to fine tune shortly before their test while others work with me for 3+ months to work from the ground up.

I have over 7 years of high-level tutoring experience and currently specialize in designing and maintaining personalized prep for my students, and in doing so, I take into account individual circumstances. The pace of lessons - for example - is determined by many factors, such as timeline, student ability, student temperament, and lesson frequency. That said, although I am flexible within lessons, I heavily emphasize a structured and methodical overall approach.

GRE

GRE

Regarding the GRE, I scored 169/170 on the quantitative section and 165/170 on the verbal section, which puts me in the 96th percentile of test takers for each section. (The 334/340 combined score falls at or around the 99th percentile.) I also scored a 5.0/6.0 on the analytical writing section - landing me in the 93rd percentile for that section. I have an extensive background tutoring math up to and including pre-calculus and have also worked with about 20 LSAT students within the past few years; this diverse teaching experience helps me adjust to each student's needs and has prepared me well to help students of differing backgrounds and talents tackle the GRE.

Logic

I am qualified in logic - generally - given my minor in philosophy completed at Boston College in May 2015. I am qualified - specifically - given my course grade "A" in the course "Logic", which I completed during my third year of study. In addition to this introductory course, I earned an "A-" in the course "Charles S. Pierce", which (as the name suggests) was dedicated to the study of American logician Charles S. Pierce. I have since continued to study logic, largely in preparation for and thereafter tutoring of the LSAT, on which I scored in the 99th percentile.

LSAT

I scored a 175 on the November 2018 LSAT (PrepTest 86), have helped over 500 students prepare for the test, and am committed to the success of those who are on board and prepared to work hard to generate positive results. I've guided students to many 170+ results, with 173, 175 (x2) and 176 as my former students' top scores. Some of my highest performing students (including some who scored in the high 160s) have achieved acceptance to one or more top US law schools - including UC Berkeley and Harvard University - and have the improved critical thinking skills required to succeed in law school. Knowledgeable, patient, kind

Down to the finest detail, Shane is incredibly knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the LSAT. Combined with his patience and kindness, Shane is the ideal tutor for such a daunting test. From our first lesson where he methodically evaluated my strengths and weaknesses to our last lesson where he provided last minute encouragement before my LSAT, he expertly guided me through the technical aspects of the test but also supported me through the mental challenges that preparing for the LSAT can bring on. If you give your very best, Shane will give you his very best and you can wake up on test day feeling well prepared.

Highly Recommended!

I did a total of about 10 lessons with Shane, with one, 1-hour session per week in the weeks leading up to the April LSAT. Having the initial 20-minute meet up was a great way to start where I listed out my previous score, current studying schedule, and score goal. In my lessons, we started each one with a recap of the previous week and practice test score breakdown and we did a lesson that either I or Shane identified as a focus area. All the lessons and studying paid off, because with the April LSAT scores released today, I learned that I got an 11 point increase! I can't thank Shane enough for all his help!

Knowledgeable, efficient, and considerate tutor

After a few weeks of beginning my LSAT study journey, I was feeling lost regarding where exactly I should focus my time to get better. Shane was great at discussing my improvement opportunities from a birds eye view and helping me build specific drilling practice. I particularly appreciate how he wastes no time during lessons/takes full advantage of the lesson time. He clearly showcases his experience as a tutor via straightforward explanations of concepts, question error review, and larger application of the LSAT study process to the actual legal profession. Additionally, he was very open to helping me adjust my weekly study plans as I shared feedback about wanting to focus on certain sections/question types/speed strategies/etc. I would highly recommend Shane!

Knowledgeable, patient, and understanding.

Shane really cared about making every minute count, he did not waste any time. He also helped me copy the notes and set up a nice schedule for studying. He also provided me with the best resources! I am absolutely going to have another lesson and continue on this LSAT journey with him.

Great First Session!

Shane did a great job at addressing my specific needs and teaching me what I needed to learn to proceed with my studies. Since the beginning of the lesson, he stayed on topic and I felt like my session was efficiently used. I would recommend him!

An outstanding tutor

I first met with Shane after taking the LSAT once and underperforming relative to my score level. Now, after seeing Shane for only 3 months, I scored a 175 in April, an 8 point increase from my last LSAT. Shane was critical to my success and helped me create a study schedule with drills and exercises that were effective. I soon learned from Shane that the key to increasing your LSAT score is to study smarter, not harder. Shane was so understanding, kind, and patient during our lessons and was great at going over practice tests with me. I could not recommend Shane enough!!!

Fantastic Mentor!

I worked with Shane for about two months and was able to break through a plateau I'd been struggling with for six months. He always gave his best effort and helped me to identify and work through key areas of improvement. I would highly suggest Shane for whatever stage you are in your studying, as he will be guaranteed to match your commitment to excelling at this exam and beyond.

Personalized, astute, and highly skilled LSAT prep

Shane vastly improved my LSAT score through personalized tutoring. He was always extremely helpful and patient, and he helped me to fix numerous issues with my understanding of each section. He gave me various techniques and tools to improve my understanding of the exam, and I learned very much. He is an amazing choice for anyone wishing to do well on their exams.

LSAT Tutoring Session

Shane helped me with understanding how to diagram logic games and to properly organize my question. It helped my slow myself down and not be too nervous about my tests. I hope to continue more sessions with Shane.

Shane makes lessons fun!

Shane helped me increase my LSAT score by 6 points in 7 weeks. I had studied with the PowerScore Bibles, LSAT Trainer, and Khan Academy for months but had hit a plateau. I was particularly struggling with Logic Games. After several logic games sessions with Shane, it consistently became my highest scoring section. He is patient, explains concepts well, and makes lessons fun. I liked that he provided a study schedule to keep you on track while also holding yourself accountable.
