Since receiving my Master's Degree in Business Administration and working over 20 years in a variety of capacities, I am confident in my abilities to tutor a student on the many aspects involved in "Business". I have experience in chain supply, logistics, management of people, project, and time. I also have my B.A. degree in Communication Studies and the two subjects together can have a great advantage to anyone I tutor.

Career Development

As part of Eastern New Mexico University's Skill Development, I worked with my GED students to guide them through career transitions by teaching job search skills, resume building, cover letter composition, the interview process. Once we accomplished getting the job, I taught basic job skills to help any entry level employee be a success in the workplace, such as effective communication, writing e-mails, memos, correspondence and professional telephone etiquette. Working with others as part of a team and improving workplace improvement.

Criminal Justice

As a paralegal for over 15 years I have experience in every area of law, law enforcement, prosecution and defense. As a current paralegal for the United States Department of Justice with the U.S. Attorneys Office, I am undertaking Criminal Prosecution at the Federal Level. I would consider it a great privilege to tutor an individual in the area of criminal justice.

Public Speaking

Public speaking is something I enjoy, contrary to most people, who may in fact, dread the mere thought of having to speak publicly. During my undergrad school work in communication studies, I participated in many classes that emphasized the importance of public speaking and, therefore, I learned some of the finer points of how to conduct myself during a public speech and also what to look for when observing public speaking. My MBA program required many presentations to administrators, as well as in the classroom. Giving presentations came easy for me. With my professional career spanning over 20 years, I have given numerous presentations and facilitated groups in a variety of formats. I have taught classes in the subject and believe the participants when they evaluated me and told me they learned a lot and enjoyed themselves. When we think about it, every time we speak, we are public speaking.

My experience teaching ESL and ESOL started over 10 years ago with the Minnesota Literacy Council. Since then, I have been teaching English to students of other languages in a variety of capacities. As a volunteer, as a paid teacher, one-on-one, and group setting, both structured formats and casual small group. I have designed and developed my curriculum and been able to tailor any off the shelf curriculum to an individual's needs. I have my B.A. degree in communication studies, with an emphasis on cultural awareness and have been involved with a variety of individual adult learners from several different countries, and in the process of me teaching English, I have been able to learn some things about adults learners of English from other countries and backgrounds.
