Hello!
I've been a teaching artist for the Asolo Education Department for the past two years, working with ages 6-14 on developing ELA benchmarks through theater and writing. My students create, write, and build stories to share with an audience over a short period of time, inspiring their critical thinking, communication skills, and public confidence. My focus as a teacher is to engage the student's imagination and lead them to find joy in communication and creation, while learning to accept feedback and redraft their own work in a constructive manner. I have also worked with the local B&GC to bring teamwork exercises, creative thinking, and performance skills to ages 8-16.
My focus over the past two years has been arts integration; taking lessons from English, science and math and incorporating as a tool for the student's imagination. It is a joy to give students confidence and excitement towards learning, and to see education as a gift- not an obstacle. I have a B.A. in Theater Arts from Temple University, and am currently pursing my M.F.A. from Florida State University. Referrals available from request.
Kindly,
