After graduate school, I began working full time as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the schools with students from elementary through high school age. I've worked with students on goal areas that included articulation (speech), phonological processing, language (including grammar and vocabulary), fluency/stuttering, and knowledge and use of social skills (pragmatics). In recent years, I have worked with autistic high school students who are transitioning to the next phase of their lives and need to think about social and pre-employment skills, or “soft” skills, as they pertain to higher education, friendships, and job acquisition.
