My name is Diane B. and I look forward to working with you and your child. I am a certified, experienced teacher and reading specialist. My career started in 1990 as a classroom teacher. In 2010, I earned my M.Ed. in Literacy from Providence College. I have spent the last thirteen years employed as a reading specialist. Students have made tremendous gains through my research based instruction. I provide targeted, intensive, and engaging reading intervention to individual and small groups of children. Homeschooling families are also welcome! I am flexible and customize my instruction to the needs of my learners. I have extensive experience working with readers who struggle in phonics, phonemic and phonological awareness, vocabulary development, fluency and comprehension, as well as writing and responding to texts. I also work closely with students who have ADHD, dyslexia, and executive functioning issues. I monitor progress and share this data with families. I am also very knowledgeable of age/grade level expectations because of my extensive work in public schools. I hope that my work with your child will give them not only the skills they need, but will also foster a positive outlook on reading and a life long love of books. Thank you for your consideration. I hope to have the opportunity to assist in getting your child started on the road to success!
