Wonderful tutor!!

Sara is an absolutely incredible tutor who is making a huge difference in my child’s life. She is very knowledgeable about effective reading tutoring (my child has dyslexia) and is able to adapt and keep things exciting for my distractible ADHD child. She goes above and beyond every session, and I can not recommend anyone more highly!

Sara is incredible. Over the past six months she has helped my 3rd grade son tremendously. Before lessons with Sara he was self-conscious about his spelling and would go out of his way to avoid writing sentences longer than a few words. Now he proudly overflows the lines on his school work. A couple months ago, after finishing some school work, he told me "knowing how to spell a lot of words puts me in a good mood." Not only has his spelling improved significantly, but his confidence has as well. Sara keeps him engaged and interested with fun and focused lessons and provides excellent support and materials for my wife and I to help reinforce the lessons throughout the week. The progress reports she provides clearly lay out the the skills that have been mastered, and what remains to work on. We feel truly lucky to have found her and I’m certain that her help with such a foundational skill will continue to have a positive impact on his education long after his lessons are finished.

Positive, caring tutor that gets results!

My third grade son has been working with Sara going on 6 months. Sara's profile floated to the top for us because of her specialized training in Orton Gillingham instruction and her experience being a classroom teacher which we thought would help with student engagement. We have been so happy with our choice! My son looks forward to his sessions with Ms. Sara because she knows how to tailor her lessons for the student. She is tuned in to how my son is doing (which can fluctuate depending on the day!), makes lessons fun, and is a safe space for him to push himself a little and to celebrate successes. She is the constant, positive influence that helps my son start to build his confidence in areas where he has struggled and where he may not get the extra attention at school. Sara takes a multi-sensory approach to learning (which has been proven to be effective for students with dyslexia) and has even gone above and beyond to ship supplies to us that help facilitate learning (and fun!) My son is able to stay engaged during the full sessions and Sara is also great communicating to the parents and teachers (as needed). Sara is passionate about understanding how different students learn in different ways and providing them the right tools to succeed. I highly recommend Sara if you are looking for a caring, credentialed tutor with expertise for those struggling with reading, spelling, or writing. We have seen my son's reading fluency, handwriting and confidence greatly improve!
