I'm a college professor at an R1 institution, with 12 years of experience in teaching, curriculum design, and tutoring in history and social studies. I'm a longtime reader for the AP US History exam, and work with high school and college students in civics/government, world history, American history, and African-American studies courses.

Additionally, I also offer college counseling and application consulting. I work with students at all levels, from college selection, major exploration, tailoring the application and pursuing competitive scholarships. My passion is college access and success for all students. I have a successful track record of working with students who have obtained SMART, Truman, Gilman, Boren, and NSF-REU scholarships, and Fulbright fellowships.

As a tutor, my style is to work quickly to identify your goals and pinpoint any challenges, so we can make the best use of our time and I can design a plan to best support you in your learning. Whether we meet for one session to take on a particular task or have longer-term meetings to improve your performance in a course, you'll find me to be a supportive, open-minded, enthusiastic tutor.
