Hello! I’m Glory, and I enjoy making biology exciting and easy for students. I have a teaching certificate from Harvard University’s Derek Bok Center and instruct with current, evidence-based research on learning. I'm currently a DMD candidate at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

I have a philosophy that the best instructors are like the best physicians: they treat the whole person instead of just the issue and make the process enjoyable. I invest significant time figuring out and targeting each student’s unique needs. I thus believe in instilling critical life skills and study strategies that the top 1% of students here at Harvard Medical School use. I credit this approach for the success of many of my students improving their grades in class and excelling on national exams.

Before Harvard, I grew up in Virginia and attended Trinity College on a full academic scholarship. I graduated from Trinity in 2017 with a 4.0 double majoring in Theater and Dance (President's Fellow) and Biology (Honors). During my undergraduate career, I enjoyed research and was able to publish multiple times in peer-reviewed biology journals, two times as first-author, within three years. I obtained an HHMI Janelia Fellowship during my junior year and presented my research at top biology conferences such as the International Congress of Vertebrate Morphology.

Throughout my experiences, I’ve strived to strengthen virtues such as patience, clear communication, and fun which are all important for the best learning. I’ve learned that clearly explaining the “why” and the “so what?!” in biology is so important. A deep understanding of biology is also about developing the tools to recognize patterns that connect recurring themes and organize the vast information. These elements are often missing in modern education and leaves bright students confused, uninterested, or unmotivated. I truly care about every one of my students. If you are interested in working with me, then please don’t hesitate to send a message!

Biology

Biology

Biology is my speciality, and I try to instill my excitement for this subject to all my students. One of my undergraduate majors was biology for which I graduated with several honors, received an A in all classes, and published several times (two times as lead author) in peer-reviewed biology journals. I obtained an HHMI Fellowship in biology during my junior year and have presented at top conferences such as the International Congress of Vertebrate Morphology. My acceptance and studies at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Dental Medicine required an extremely thorough and comprehensive knowledge of this subject. However, I’ve always strived to go beyond simply personal knowledge to help others reach a deep understanding of the subject. I’ve tutored biology since high school to peers who had difficulty with concepts or figuring out how to study. Before my first year at Harvard, I created the biology curriculum for the pilot run of the MIT non-profit, BoSTEM Scholars Academy and led the career advising committee. My curriculum was specialized to help at-risk, disadvantaged high-school students and implemented the flipped classroom approach.

Ecology,

Ecology

During my undergraduate career, I participated in two research studies on ecology of invertebrates (firefly mating signals) and vertebrates (scavenger mammals). Some of my former work was presented at the International Firefly Symposium in 2017. I continue to enjoy learning about the relationships between organisms and the environment in my free time.
Microbiology,

Microbiology

I loved Microbiology during my undergraduate career and received an A in the class. I’ve been published in the journal eLife on bacteriophages, mastered electron microscopy which was used to publish as first-author in two biology journals, and obtained a Janelia HHMI Fellowship in biology during my junior year for applications of microscopy. At Harvard Medical School, a deep understanding of Microbiology was also critical for success.
Physiology,

Physiology

I excelled in Physiology during my undergraduate career to receive one of the highest grades in the class. I’ve published as first-author in two biology journals using microscopy to explore the connection between structure and function on a cellular level, and obtained a Janelia HHMI Fellowship in biology my junior year. At Harvard Medical School, a deep understanding of physiology was also critical for success.
Zoology

Zoology

My undergraduate studies heavily focused on general animal biology. I gained extensive background knowledge from a wide range of classes related to zoology. My research on vertebrate morphology, physiology, and evolution has been published in multiple peer-reviewed biological journals. I’ve presented this research in venues such as the International Congress of Vertebrate Morphology. I also have experience with invertebrates including research in firefly ecology and behavior.

A great intellect with a huge passion!

I have only had 2 sessions with Mr. Glory, and my grade in AP Biology went from a 74 to an 85. I was struggling with AP Biology since the beginning of the year, and I knew I needed help. After through research, I came across Mr. Glory! He is very well educated and very passionate about the subject, Biology. I could understand a week's worth of lesson in an hour with him! In fact, the last test that I took was the highest I ever scored in any tests. It only took two sessions with Mr. Glory to achieve that score. I no longer hate AP Biology, thanks to Mr. Glory!

Knowledgeable and understands where I am at

He is teaching me study techniques while reinforcing bio concepts. Good to put the two together to help with my studies. Speakeasy only a way I understand and challenges me along the way. Thanks for your help.

Excellent biology tutor

Glory is a very knowledgeable and patient tutor. He really helped my daughter to understand the subject where she struggled and affected her grade. We’ll continue to have more sessions with him.

Knowledgeable tutor

Glory really knows his stuff and explains it very clearly. He is able to connect seemingly irrelevant topics in a way that I finally understand them. All in all, great tutor!

Notably excellent tutor!

100% recommend! His teaching is through and meticulous, and he makes sure the student fully understands the concept. He not only teaches the subject itself but also on how to study and set yourself to succeed. He breaks down the lesson so it is easy to understand, and his teaching is efficient so you cover and learn a lot in one session!

I really like the teaching method!

Dr. Glory's class is my dream class. He tutored me molecular biology in a logical way and told me lots of tips to understand the materials rather than just memorizing. He taught me many study tips. In all, I really enjoy his class! -clear, inspiring, logical-
