I love to learn, and to help students realize the joy in understanding their world. I was a high school art teacher for 7 years, teaching Studio Art Classes (painting and drawing), as well as Art History. But my own desire to learn recently led me to go back to school to receive my degree in Information Systems Technology, which included programming in Python and Java, HTML and CSS, Photoshop, and Ruby. Having achieved an 800 on my Math SAT, and a 710 on my Verbal, I understand the structure of the SAT test questions, and can assist students in answering SAT questions quickly and accurately. I can tutor math up to pre-Calculus, having earned a 5 on my AP Calculus exam in high school.

I would love to assist you in achieving your goals of fully understanding the subjects with which you're struggling. My approach is never to teach just enough to 'get by', or pass a test. Only true understanding of the interconnectedness of the different subjects, and of how previous knowledge can be built upon with new knowledge, will allow for learning which is permanent and complete. I gauge each student's lesson plans to that student's personal needs, using a personalized approach instead of a 'one size fits all' methodology.
