Hi there!
My name is Bryan and I'm currently a master's student at Princeton University and a graduate of the University of Tokyo! I've been a tutor (online and in person) for over 6 years now. I love teaching topics in which I feel like I can explain in great depth, subjects such as math and computer science. I often find that I can approach teaching in a way that allows me to understand the student's way of thinking, and teach them through their best way of learning. Having been a student myself (and still am!), I believe that I can see how to effectively communicate information and resolve the issues that students face.
For me, I always found that learning is much more cohesive and memorable when I experience that "Ah-ha!" moment in my head. Although I sometimes had this clarity studying by myself, it was usually thanks to the explanation from a teacher or a fellow student where I would finally understand a difficult concept. Based off of my own experiences, I too, love helping others in discovering that "Ah-ha" moment of their own and greatly advancing their confidence in academics. Moreover, I find that oftentimes, as much as the tutor is teaching a student, the student is also teaching the tutor as well! With each and every student I take, the uniqueness of perspectives and styles makes me excited to continue teaching as many students as I can.
I have been tutoring Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus BC to high school students for 2 years. I scored a perfect score on the SAT Math and SAT II Math 2, as well as a 5 on the AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, and AP Computer Science exams. I also attended local math competitions/olympiads with my school math team.
I participated in the F=ma Physics Olympiad and tutored people with AP Physics I and II, and sometimes Physics C as well.
I have been coding in Java for more than 6 years now, working on various projects with other students and small businesses ranging from Minecraft mods to machine learning.
