Hello! My name is Sharon and I graduated with a masters degree in Poultry Science, focusing on animal health and physiology. Upon graduation, I worked in the veterinary/pathology lab for an integrated livestock company for almost 20 years. I am currently teaching general biology (both for majors and non-majors) anatomy and physiology, and immunology at a private university. Teaching has become a passion for me, and I love being in the classroom and interacting with students. I love to see students being successful at pursuing their career goals. I also like to teach the non-majors sciences, and to show students that are not necessarily in a science field, just how much impact science has on everyday life.

Regardless of their chosen path, students need additional resources to be successful at some point in their academic pursuits. Tutoring is a great resource to use! Sometimes all it takes is a different way of explaining concepts, or a different study method for students to catch onto material. No two students learn alike, and being able to provide a variety of those resources are key to student success.

I have a wide range of experience in teaching in the sciences, from general biology, to anatomy and physiology and immunology. I have a Masters degree that focused on animal health and disease prevention, and having worked in industry for many years, I am able to use my real world experiences to relate concept information to students.

I am excited to help others in their pursuits in science! I am flexible with my schedule, and would be happy to meet after school or on the weekends.
