I taught Middle School English online for a year, and now I tutor online which is fun and very similar! I'm Montessori trained in Elementary Level ages 6-12; MA state licensed to teach English in grades 5-12; I'm AP English certified, and have lots of experience tutoring students who have various learning differences such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Visually and Hearing Impaired, Gifted and Talented and English Language Learners.

I have a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing Poetry and am a nationally published poet. I also studied poetry with two famous poets; James Tate and Robert Bly. I was a Poet-in-Residence at an independent school for gifted children.

The subjects I specialize in are: Poetry, Eco-Literature, Nonfiction, Reading, Writing, Literature in English of any genre and time period and culture, Handwriting, Creative Writing, Essay Writing, Vocabulary, Study Skills, Researching, Grammar, Proofreading/Editing, Test Prep and Career Development Skills. I will assess your skill level and interests and create a learning plan that we can agree on together, which will help strengthen your abilities and confidence. I don't assign homework unless you request it. I also will give you progress reports every month so you can track your progress.

I try to be flexible with my time. While I do have a 24 hr cancellation policy, I offer makeup sessions. I enjoy tutoring online. When I tutor in-person, I can reserve study rooms at the nearest library to you or tutor right in your home. However, I am happy to travel to any location that is easiest for you.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!

I used to teach a Business English class to high school and continuing ed. students. One of the units in the class was on Career Development. My students took free online personality and career skills tests I researched for them, then I would help them organize and understand the results and develop a step by step timeline to achieve the career they've been looking for.

Amazing!!! We LOVED Mindy.

Mindy tutored our 6th grade son to help him improve his English/writing skills before entering a new middle school. From the moment we met her, she was a perfect fit. She had a passion for the subject, which engaged our son immediately and throughout. And, she had such a kind and gentle yet smart, playful, and fun manner, that he truly loved his time with her. He actually told us that he felt peaceful after working with her and we saw his skills and confidence improve immediately! We cannot say enough good things about Mindy. She is a true treasure.

Extremely competent

Mindy seems like a great fit to tutor our son in literature and creative writing. They hit it off right away and Mindy came organized, prepared and ready to engage my son at the same time as including us, his parents, in the process.
