I have been teaching at a college level for the past 22 years. Originally an electronic engineer by profession, I became involved in teaching Telecommunications at a local college. Since then, I became a full time faculty member at a career college where I have been teaching for 20 years in the field of Computer Networking and Information Technology and Mathematics. I come from a family of teachers. My mother was an elementary school teacher for her entire career and my older brother became a teacher while serving in the military. I have 2 children who have become teachers in public schools. I personally have a passion for teaching Information Technology courses. I utilize my engineering and professional background to supplement my presentations using a hands-on approach. Students learn best when they can have an interaction with the computer related equipment that they are trying to master. I like working with smaller groups or even one-on-one with students that need extra help. I am extremely patient with students who may be experiencing difficulty in learning. I prefer teaching in a regular classroom environment; however, I have also taught in the on-line arena. Either way, my students have always been very satisfied with their overall outcomes and experiences.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have been teaching at a local college for the past 20 years. While teaching my Information Technology courses I have also taught College Algebra since computer related classes require a thorough knowledge of mathematics. I have also tutored math many times with students in other majors. I am very patient and enjoy it when my tutoring has helped a student to understand the subject better.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 cross-relates into both physics and electrical engineering. Some of the items covered include imaginary numbers, polynomials, logs, and graphing of non-linear equations all of which apply to electrical engineering and electronic design. I have taught algebra 2 as an integral part of AC electronics, and I have also tutored algebra 2 at a college level.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have taught Algebra at a local college many times over the past 20 years. A part of that course teaches geometry. Also as an Electrical Engineer, I had to take all phases of mathematics throughout my years in college including geometry. I have been tutoring Regents Geometry for the past 2 years and my students have improved their grades. l am very patient with my students and I enjoy seeing them learn from my extra help.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering and a Master's degree in Information Technology. During the 4 years for the Bachelor's degree in Engineering, I was required to take precalculus, calculus 1, calculus 2 as well as advanced calculus. I have taught college level algebra multiple times during my last 20 years while teaching computer networking and electronics classes.

Knowledgeable, Patient and Kind

Stan is a five-star tutor. I would give ten stars if I could. He helped me get through a very difficult rewrite on a project in a ridiculously difficult and poorly structured class. I highly recommend Stan's tutelage to anyone. He is highly intelligent and detail-oriented in giving the information one needs to not only receive a passing grade, but to receive a very good grade. Thank you, Stan!
