I enjoy tutoring because teaching is in my blood.

I have a diverse, 20+ year teaching and tutoring experience. I have worked as a school administrator and principal/vice principal for almost 10 years, overseeing the successful Middle States re-accreditation of two Maryland schools, and have taught a wide variety of subjects from math and language arts to Biblical studies, foreign language and literature.

My passion, even as a principal, has been always to be in the classroom: I love to see young people's faces as they actually get it! There's nothing as rewarding as teaching what you know and seeing the student show others!

I have a bachelor's degree in foreign language--including modern and ancient languages--and a master's (and post-graduate work) in Biblical languages and studies.

My experience as a teacher includes classroom teaching, tutoring, seminars, small study groups, individualized student profiles, and teaching training. This teaching has covered the full range from elementary, middle, and high school; adult education; and paid and volunteer tutoring. My extensive involvement in private, public, and homeschooling education allows me to meet the diverse needs of today's student.

As an administrator/principal, I have overseen teacher-development; curriculum revision, creation, and development; accreditation; and parent involvement. My passion has been to give parents and schools a "right-arm support" to their students' education. I understand the community, and I raise academic standards to meet the challenges that the community brings with results that parents demand.

My step-by-step, easy-to-learn approach to explaining difficult math concepts. Because I have taught math and English in elementary, middle, high school students, and adults, I know how to make all math concepts easy to understand. I specialize in elementary math and language arts, algebra 1 and 2, geometry, writing essays and research papers, grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension.

Very professional and knowledgeable

So far so good. He's helping my son to target the areas where he needs improvement. We've only met twice and he's still in the process of assessing him, but so far I really like the strategy he's using to approach teaching my son. I believe it will give him the structure and foundation he needs to succeed in math.

Patient, knowledgeable, and easy to relate

My son Anthony has been working with Ron for 6 weeks now and is showing significant improvement. From day one, Ron established great rapport with Anthony, getting him to candidly share his greatest learning challenges, concerns, and study habits that hindered his success. After spending a couple of weeks teaching study skills and giving excellent clarification on specific chemistry and algebra 2 concepts Anthony that was having difficulty understanding, Ron then began focusing on ACT prep as we agreed. From the very first lesson after talking the practice exam, my son's confidence shot up 10 notches. Not being one who's performed well on standardized tests in the past, Anthony walked away from his first pep lesson with new skills that immediately boosted his confidence and also his score after retaking the the section over with his new knowledge. Anthony is looking forward to learning even more and feels more confident about his ability to raise his ACT score at least another 4-5 points. Both of us are completely satisfied with Ron's help each week and are happy we chose him as our tutor.
