Hello! My name is Siena and I am a recent graduate from Linfield University. I graduated with my BS in Elementary Education, so I am most comfortable working with elementary students in reading and writing, but am also comfortable working with middle school students.
I have had plenty of experience working with kids, both in and out of a classroom. I have been a babysitter, counselor in training; as well as working in more formal roles, as a: student teacher, summer school teacher, substitute teacher, and tutor. As someone with a processing disorder, it is important to me that when I work with students, I am able to provide them with different ways to absorb the material that we are learning. Especially for elementary students, I always give the option to use pictures or drawings or some other sort of visual if that is what works best for them!
Although I love being in classrooms full of kids, I also value my one on one time working with students, as it allows me to form close, personal relationships with them. Additionally, it allows me to really dig deep into what they need the most help with and what I can do to best support them.
