My name is Aleksandra and I graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University. I have a bachelors degree in Secondary Education Mathematics and a master degree in Educational Administration. In college I enjoyed taking a learning a variety of pedagogical techniques as well as math content. The courses I enjoyed the most were the one's where professors set high expectations for their students which is the approach that I have had for my students as well.

I am a certified math teacher for grades 7-12. I have ten years of experience teaching mathematics. I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, College Algebra and Math Intervention. In the classroom I used the Kagan method of cooperative learning, small group instruction as well as problem based learning. I set high expectations for my students and they lived up to my expectations.

Additionally, I have tutored students for twelve years in areas of standardization test prep, course prep and math intervention at all levels. The students that I tutored were all high school aged and the sessions were mostly one-on-one intervention sessions for students who struggled with the Algebra and Geometry content in the classroom. The students required an extra 2-3 hours a week of support to feel comfortable with the content. Additionally, I provided small group tutoring for the ACT and the state standardized test. The method of tutoring that I most often used is the Socratic method where I guide students towards the learning once I model an example problem. The test prep method that I most often taught along with content were test taking strategies, time management, read directions.
