Upon becoming an NP, my first position was in the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit (CT Surgery) in Brooklyn, N.Y. and was subsequently recruited to the prestigious Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan where I was named the Senior/Chief NP in CT Surgery. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to managing the medical and surgical care of 2 floors of 40 or more patients while concomitantly directing the other NP's and Nursing staff of the CT unit as needed. I was also responsible for directing the physicians who had to rotate thru my unit as part of their training.

Arriving in Las Vegas in 2003, I initially built a failing Private Practice owned by a local physician. Shortly thereafter I was named the Director of 3 of his affiliated clinics. With a desire to return to acute care, I soon accepted a position with a large Medical Group as a Hospitalist. I continued in that position for 6 years till my assistance was requested in filling a vacancy in Private Practice. I continued in that position for some years.

In transitioning to teaching, my first position began at Northwest Career College teaching A & P to aspiring Medical Assistant's. I also became a certified CPR Instructor and currently continue to teach CPR classes for the college as well as privately.

My gift and my passion however has always been Cardiology! Cardiology can be very intimidating; not only to the novice involved in Cardiac Care, but even to the experienced professional who is new to this area of Nursing/Medicine. As I teach other areas of Med-Surg, I teach Cardiology so that one UNDERSTANDS what is happening and why! This is paramount in grasping the insight to the small muscle which keeps us alive, and also can cause our entire body t

Grammar,

Grammar

I have a Master of Science degree, however I have been published several times in medical journals over the years. Writing comes easy to me and I am extremely critical of incorrect grammar. I do believe that the utilization of correct grammar is very important when trying to get ones' message across to readers. I have written many things of late regarding our current political candidates and have received numerous compliments from my readers, noting that "....it is not what you said, but how you said it that counts."

NCLEX

I have earned numerous degrees, beginning with an Associate of Science degree in Nursing. I subsequently became a Registered Nurse working on a cardiac telemetry unit. I continued my education thereafter, receiving my Bachelor's degree and then my Master's degree. I also attained, concomitant with these degrees, many honors such as the Student Excellence Award of the Northeast Region. (Only one student receives this out of the entire student body). In addition I always graduated Magna Cum Laude; worked as Senior NP in CT surgery; as a Hospitalist in Nevada and subsequently worked in Private Practice. My knowledge of medicine and Nursing is without compromise. I truly enjoy giving back some of the vast amount of knowledge I have attained over the years to those desirous of expanding their knowledge base.

Writing

As I have noted in my profile, I have a Master of Science degree. Throughout the years I have written articles on topic for Nursing journals and Physician Assistant journals. They were all subsequently published. Writing is a skill that one either has a capacity for or one that can be learned. I have found that I have a great capacity to write and continuously receive compliments on various subject matters. Of late, my subject matter has been comprised of our current political process and for which I have been benefit of many compliments. It has been noted to me in paraphrase, that it is not necessarily what I say but how I say it.

After graduation as an RN in 1992, given my love for Cardiology, I began work on a cardiac telemetry unit. After graduation as an NP in 1999, I was fortunate to obtain a position in Cardiothoracic Surgery. I subsequently was recruited to a very prestigious hospital in NY and named the Chief/Senior NP in CT Surgery there. My expertise in Cardiology is incomparable! I not only have the expertise in Cardiology you will not find elsewhere, but also have my own Power Points to help you to progress from Anatomy & Physiology, to learning how to read EKG's with subsequent EKG strips for you to practice with me to evidence the comprehension of your new knowledge. Where your professor leads off, I pick up!!!! I also prepare you to understand everything you need to know regarding Pacemakers; what the difference is between "sensing and capture"! So, learn from THE BEST!!!! Don't be intimidated by Cardiology! I teach you to UNDERSTAND it; NOT MEMORIZE it!!!! I look forward to seeing your eyes open wide with understanding!!!!

Science

Anatomy,

Anatomy

Anatomy and Physiology are two of the most prominent subjects required to have superior knowledge in the quest to become a Registered Nurse, a Nurse Practitioner, and/or certainly in the practice of Medicine. As a Nurse Practitioner who has practiced in a multitude of disciplines in: Cardiothoracic Surgery; as a Hospitalist; and in Private Practice, I have extensive experience which few others have. I routinely instruct my students how to "understand" vs. "memorizing" whenever possible to help you to internalize the material and to NEVER forget it. As a result, your grades will soar!!!! I look forward to assisting you in this quest!

Physiology,

Physiology

I have successfully tutored to graduation thousands of Family Nurse Practitioner students, PA students, RN students, and Medical Students because of the in-depth knowledge I possess in Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology. My passion to see you succeed has also proven effective in my ability to deliver the vast amount of information you must acquire. Given my more than two decades of practice, first as an RN, subsequently as Chief/Senior Nurse Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Surgery, as a Director of 3 local clinics, as a Hospitalist and in Private Practice has provided me with unique experience from both sides of the fence as I implemented the medical and surgical treatments required in the practice of medicine. In addition, the many positions I have held has required me to accumulate a great deal of knowledge regarding the diverse diseases we routinely treat as well as an understanding of the origins and appropriate interventions required to successfully cure and/or mitigate a patient's ailments. Prescribing and managing IV medications that can be synergistic to an individual's adaptive immune system was paramount in my positions. I welcome all those who are having difficulty with any of these topics (too many to name) to seek me out to assist them in their quest to attain high grades! I am very passionate at my work and it shows in my ability to help you attain high grades.

Knowledgeable and a patient tutor

Stuart taught me how to think critical and stay calm if I start to feel nervous in a clinical setting. This is the first tutor that I could understand better than my instructors. After, the meeting, I could understand what I went wrong and he made me more knowledgeable. I highly recommend him to all students. Thanks Stuart!
