I believe we are all creative and strive to help each of my students reach their creative potential.

My passion for photography first became apparent at the age of 12 while taking a photography class in summer school. I loved learning about f/stops, shutter speeds and how to work a camera. As I took pictures I tried to imagine what the negative images looked like on the film inside my camera. The decisive moment came while watching my first print emerge from the developer under the amber glow of the darkroom safelight. It seemed like magic. A lifelong curiosity and passion for photography was born!

Since those days I’ve learned a lot about photography, art & life. I have a BS in Psychology from Hobart College where I graduated with High Honors and received the Arthur Dove Memorial Art Award. My MFA is from the Hartford Art School where my work was awarded for excellence and innovation by art critics Andy Grundberg and Merry A. Foresta.

I’ve shot many jobs as a freelance commercial photographer specializing in architectural, product & food photography. My fine art photography has been exhibited & published internationally. I have taught classes in photography, Photoshop and History of Photography to hundreds of students ranging from teenagers to octogenarians. I’ve appeared as a featured artist/educator on Ovation TV’s art & culture program American Canvas.

In addition to offering private lessons and creativity coaching my teaching experience includes Rutgers University, Hartford Art School, Vero Beach Museum of Art, Trinity College, University of Connecticut and Connecticut State Community College

My photography has been published in Luxe Magazine, Four, Seasons Magazine, Presence Magazine and Dream Homes of North America among others.
