I tailor my teaching style to each of my student's intuitive train of thought. This practice involves a careful analysis of the student's strengths and weaknesses as well as an assessment of his/her instinctive method in determining the solution. I exercise a high degree of patience by initially allowing my students to work through each problem before I intervene. This enables a continuous feedback loop for me and an autonomous learning structure for them, which ultimately translates to successful, independent thinking. Moreover, I communicate to my students the importance of accountability and encourage them to be organized, disciplined, and dedicated both in and out of our sessions.

I hold an engineering degree and have extensive experience tutoring mathematics at all levels (elementary through AP/college) including at Boca Raton Community High School and Eagles Landing Middle School. Additionally, I have an MBA (99 percentile GMAT score) and my test preparation experience includes the PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE/ERB, PERT, HSPT, Accuplacer, GMAT, and GRE. I also specialize in teaching Exceptional Education Students (ESE) with learning differences including ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, anxiety disorder, etc.

Over the last few years, I have provided guidance to dozens of students in a effort to optimize their resumes for college acceptance. This process typically begins in 10th grade and involves test preparation (SAT/ACT), course planning, subject tutoring, followed by the identification of target colleges, and concludes with the application process (essay construction, letters of rec, etc). More specifically, I have significant experience navigating prospective collegiate athletes through the "off the field/court" academic and college planning process. In aggregate, I have assisted aspiring collegiate and private school students in achieving nearly $2 million worth of scholarship awards and a 95+% acceptance rate into their learning institution of choice. COOP/HSPT,

COOP/HSPT

I have tutored the HSPT (used by Catholic Schools for admission and scholarship consideration) as recent as this past March. Based on the results of this test, among other factors, the student gained acceptance into Saint John Paul II and was awarded a scholarship of $60,000 spanning 4 years (half tuition). I am well versed in all 5 sections of this exam (2 math, 2 verbal, 1 reading). Thanks, Jesse
ISEE,

ISEE

I have experience tutoring the three primary levels of the ISEE (upper: grades 8-11, middle: grades 6-7, and lower: grades 4-5) for entrance into independent/private schools. I am adept in all three sections (math, verbal, and reading). Most recently, I successfully tutored siblings (grades 5 and 7) this past May. I also have extensive experience tutoring the SSAT and HSPT, which are alternative tests for entrance/scholarship into private schools that very closely resemble the ISEE. All total, I assisted prospective private school students in achieving ~$600,000 of scholarship awards and a 95%+ acceptance rate into their learning institution of choice for admission in 2017-2018.

Clear Expert

Efficient and direct, this is a friendly engaging but no non-sense, results-oriented approach; ambitious yet achievable goals that give my 6th grader confidence to retake the SSAT.

Highest Recommendation

Jesse worked with our child for a little over 5 weeks helping him prepare for his SSAT and the results were far beyond our expectations. Not only did our child score in the 90th percentile (after scoring in the 70th percentile the first time without Jesse), our child thoroughly enjoyed lessons with Jesse and looked forward to sessions with him. Jesse was able to work around our busy schedule and even worked with our child during our vacation. While his patience and insight would be enough to make this recommendation, the results do speak for themselves. We have already recommended Jesse to other parents and we will be using him to help our child prepare for his future entrance exams. If you are looking for a tutor for your child, he should be the first call you make.
