As a former elementary school teacher, I have worked with students of different ages, ability levels, interests, strengths, and weaknesses. Part of being a great teacher is knowing how to reach each student where they are. I have taught all grade levels from preschool through Grade 5, with most of my career being with Grade 4. I also spent several years as a STEM teacher, teaching real-life problem-solving skills through the design process. I also hold an endorsement in gifted education.

Outside of the classroom, I have vast experience with tutoring. I love tutoring because, unlike in a traditional classroom where there are many students, I can really focus in on one student and give them exactly what they need without having to balance that with 20 other children. I would love to help your child fill in learning gaps, reinforce skills, prepare and study for assessments, or even give an academic push/enrichment if your child isn't necessarily in need of support, but you want to see them enriched with more.

I have taught elementary math for over 20 years. Students learn in different ways, and I have many "tricks of the trade" to reach students who may need to be taught in a slightly different way. I also have experience teaching STEM.

I have taught elementary science for over 20 years, including several years of STEM. I have taught elementary vocabulary for over 20 years. As a former elementary teacher, I have experience teaching all core subjects.
