I particularly tutor students who are taking STA 2023. I have many worked out examples and worked out exam reviews.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is the critical course for building skills that you will need for everything that follows, including Geometry. When I tutor Algebra 1 students, I focus on how to study math and how to prepare for math tests.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 is difficult for many students because this is the course that accelerates the pace in math. Lots of new concepts are thrown at a student and they must all be mastered without the extended time and practice that a student has seen on concepts in lower level courses. This is the course in which a student must learn how to teach himself math, rather than depending on an instructor.
Calculus,

Calculus

Calculus, in itself, is relatively simple. What makes a calculus course tough is that the student must be able to pull together a wide range of math knowledge, particularly precalculus and trigonometry, and apply it in this new context. There are ways to make this easier and I can show them to you. I can also help you prepare for the AP Calculus AB Exam.
Geometry,

Geometry

Having difficulty with Geometry? I did. I got an A in Algebra 1 and really struggled with Geometry. The basics of Geometry are different from Algebra and I can help you get over that hump. In addition, I've learned a number tricks that can be used to help cement your knowledge of difficult topics.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

Precalc is Algebra 2 on steroids. Lots of topics and concepts, lots of methods, lots of tough problem solving. Any weakness that a student has in Algebra will be exposed here and must be addressed to succeed in this course. Success with this course will make Calculus a lot easier.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry combines Algebra and Geometry in an entirely new way. This can be a fun course if you know how to approach it. I got an A in Trig and there is definitely a method that will ensure your success with it.

great experience all the way around

Brian was a great experience all the way around. He called ahead of time so he could know what books and lessons she was studying. He was patient, thorough, made good reason of her math, showed her steps that the online site and books skipped...my daughter said it all made sense after he showed her and she was smiling! We will continue to use Brian.

Goes above and beyond

I haven’t taken a math class in about 20 years. Brian was very kind and patient. Before our session he sent me handouts on study methods and test preparations. He also helped me work through some of my homework. I was really apprehensive about tutoring online. Our session was great. Looking forward to our next session.

Great tutor

I enrolled in an MBA this past year and had to take a statistics class this semester. This was my first math class in over a decade and the first one taken as an online course. I was a bit nervous to say the least. I survived the first few weeks on my own, but as the material got harder I knew I needed help. That’s when I connected with Brian on Wyzant and everything was better from that point. Brian is an easy to connect with as a person and had an excellent way of breaking down complicated material and showing how it applies to real life. I went from being worried about not passing the class to almost getting an A at the end. That would not have happened without Brian’s help. I appreciate him and recommend his services to those needing help.

Encouraging and Helpful Tutor

My son was taking calculus and although had all A’s on his labs received an F and a D on his first two test. He wanted to withdraw. After his session with Brian S. He was encouraged and had a new perspective. Brian showed him how to take better notes in class. The next test he received a C. Then a B and on his final test an A. He passed Calculus with a solid B. We recommend Brian and appreciate his help. Thank you, Brian!

likeable

Brian comes accross as very dedicated. He seems to know what the individual student needs (patience, toughness, straight forward). It doesn't appear to be just a business to him, he is genuine.
