Following a long career as a lab technician, I a returning to an earlier passion: helping students to learn. My degree was high school English and journalism, but my passion for learning has branched out into the subjects of history and science, as well. I have worked as part of a professional team comprised of individuals from very diverse national and ethnic backgrounds. I am currently in the role as a substitute teacher, but am interested in serving as a tutor, helping students to overcome difficulties with challenging subjects, and to excel in their learning experience.

I am patient with students who are willing to work to improve their reading and writing skills. I know how to break reading and composition down into simple, basic steps that can be understood and implemented.

I have a passion for history and understand that it is comprised of so much more than names and dates. History is a cultural collection of stories - the stories of real people who have impacted the way we live and think.
