Greetings!

According to Hunt, Touzel, and Wiseman (1999), “teachers ultimately determine the quality of schooling that students receive” (p. 3).

I am a dynamic educator with comprehensive knowledge and experience in the education and business fields, providing me with broad teaching and learning perspectives valuable in helping students achieve their educational goals. I have extensive experience mentoring and helping students develop research, writing, critical and creative thinking skills, as well as to establish goals and determine plans for action in both online and face-to-face formats. I am a strong oral and written communicator, with demonstrated cultural competency skills and Spanish language fluency, ready to help you with study skills, transition to college and university studies, elementary and middle school math, Spanish, ESL/ESOL, TOEFL, reading, and writing, including attention to content, writing mechanics and implementation of APA Style. I am approved to tutor 15 subjects.

One of my goals for each tutoring session is to go over the objectives of the lesson. At the end of the lesson, we revisit what was covered before I assign homework. Correspondingly, I provide periodic formative and summative assessments of student learning.

I am generally available for tutoring every day and online platforms facilitate tutoring even further. My base rate is $45/hour and I offer discounts for package lessons--contact me for more details.

While I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, I understand that emergencies happen and I offer lesson makeup to ensure you stay on track. Overall, I am committed to a collaborative approach to scholarship and the need to create quality, energetic learning environments, to help successfully continue a sense of community that validates and celebrates learning.

Looking forward to working with you...all the best,
Dr. D.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Dr. D is a wonderful tutor! She's very knowledgeable in what she does. Working with her has given me the confidence that I need to tackle my Teas Exam with ease. We cover materials from subject-verb agreement, predicate, simple sentence structure and so on. Anatomy & Physiology is another subject that we're working on. She provides helpful short quizzes that will guide you to a better understanding of the material, she responds back in a timely manner, and she never end a session without making sure that all questions, topics or concerns are addressed. I will definitely recommend Dr. D to friends and family members for their tutoring needs.
