All too often learning a foreign language becomes about repetition and memorizing tables. My philosophy is you have to love learning the language: music, movies, stories... I'll guide you through learning the language with what you love and teach you the intricate connections in the grammar so that it just clicks rather than having you thoughtlessly memorize tables.

My passion is foreign language, I'm a certified language teacher fluent in German, Italian and French. I've lived in Austria and Italy for several years. I have years of tutoring experience and can help you succeed and, just as important, enjoy learning a foreign language.

During my time abroad, I helped several students prepare for the TOEFL exam, helping them succeed in writing essays, reading fiction and non-fiction prose and navigating their way through otherwise overwhelming conversations with multiple people by teaching active listening and self-expression techniques.

I hold a BA in Teaching of German from University of Illinois in Champaign. I spent 3 years living in Italy, acquiring the highest level of language proficiency as per the University of Siena.
I am also a Certified Teacher of French for Illinois and a native Speaker of Russian.
