My name is Emmanuel. I am an associate professor of political science and international affairs at The George Washington University (GWU). I have 17 years of experience teaching data science and political science and in advising undergraduate and graduate students in their research projects. I also have extensive experience conducting social science research and serve as a managing editor of the Journal of Development Studies. My research has been funded by the United States Institute of Peace, the National Science Foundation, the Fulbright Foundation and the Social Science Research Council and has been published in such journals as the American Journal of Political Science, World Politics, Comparative Political Studies, and Political Research Quarterly.

I really enjoy helping students with their research methods questions and to improve their coding and writing skills. I am also available to help with questions about research design and provide advice on navigating the peer review process at professional journals.

As a professor at GWU, I teach regularly teach courses that train students to use Microsoft Excel, Power BI, R and Quarto. I also have extensive experience conducting research with these tools and with STATA. If you are just getting started, I would be happy to provide an hour-long overview of any of these platforms and refer you to relevant resources to further your studies.

I also teach courses on comparative politics, political economy and the politics of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Afghanistan) and regularly provide advice as a paid consultant on these topics.

I can work with students at all levels, including beginners. One of the things I really like about data science is its openness and inclusiveness.
