I am Tong and my English name is Mary. I was brought up in China. After finishing high school in China, I continued to pursue my high education in Accounting in China, while I was interested in Chinese Literature as well. I attended some groups to enjoy speech and learn Ancient Chinese Literature such as Tang Poem. After I got my degree, I found a job in a pharmaceutical company as an accountant.

Being a teacher was always a dream in my deep heart since I was a little girl. So a few years later, I decided to turn my career to the education field. I went to an elementary school to teach kids Math and Chinese from grades one to grades six for almost seven years. I loved this job so much. There is a sense of real enjoyment in what is being studied, and I do my best to get a balance between a sense of fun and efficient study with each and every student.

I subsequently earned my Associates in Science degree after I moved to the United States. I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker who is near fluent in English. I am a friendly person who deals with young students with patience. I am not only teaching them to learn new things, but also letting them discover the way to why it is, and try to use different methods to get the answers. It is an enjoyable process.
