Italy is a magnificent country, and there's so much more to it than the large cities of Florence, Venice and Rome. Daniela spent 30 years of her life living in Florence and the surrounding countryside, and as an Italian native, she loves to provide her clients with personalized recommendations and unique excursion opportunities. For many people, traveling to Italy is a dream come true.

By learning Italian with her, you can avoid falling victim to some of the famous tourist traps, and you will get to enjoy an authentic Italian experience. Daniela is an Italy specialist who is enjoying a fresh start as a travel professional. She also works as an Italian teacher for some local schools, and loves to help her students planning study abroad experiences in Italy where they can immerse themselves in the culture and language of the country. She enjoys offering tips and advice to her clients and students, and helping them decide on the best places to go while on their trip.

While the big cities are amazing and should definitely be explored, Daniela also recommend stopping in small villages and towns along the way. This allows travelers to meet the friendly local people and enjoy the most delicious Italian food in the world. Given her expert local knowledge, she can tell her clients where to find the best real gelato and can also point out hidden treasures near some of the most popular tourist destinations.

Daniela wants her clients to do more than just make a photo stop at the Colosseum in Rome and pretend to hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. She wants them to experience the Italian culture, interact with the local people and enjoy pasta and wine the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

So you want to learn Italian. How can I help you.

I had taken a group lesson in Italian and I did not feel like I was progressing. Now after just four lessons with a new tutor it feels like I have progressed quite a bit. One of Daniela’s strengths is figuring out what the student knows and then coming up with a plan to get the student where they want to go. That is what we did on my first day with Daniela. In my last lesson (my fourth lesson) we worked on adjectives and some of the prefixes that can be used with them. Previously we have covered verbs (regular and irregular), prepositions and past perfect tense. This may sound like a lot but the more you learn the more things start fitting together. The key is being challenged to understand the rules of the language and then to put those rules into practice by speaking the language with a native speaker. Another strength Daniella uses is her patience. As a student you can feel pressure and anxiety as you make the mistakes that students make and Daniella is very patient in correcting what you are doing and saying. In short, Daniella has the ability to establish a productive and comfortable environment. After an upcoming trip to Florence, Italy I look forward to pursuing more classes.

Patient and Thoughtful Tutor

Daniela is teaching my daugher and me conversational Italian that we will use on a trip to Sicily. She carefully curates the lessons to focus on thetypes of situations we may encounter and helps us learn the words and phrases to use (and what not to use!). We have learned a lot in just one month. We appreciate her thoughtful approach, encouragement and gentle corrections as we likely mangle the language in our attempts to express ourselves! Highly recommend.

Great experience, a tutor that’s easy to work with

Daniella is very personable and patient. She’s helping me gain confidence and insight for an upcoming Italian vacation. Her practical advice is very useful.

Natural Italian speaker, knowing the nuances.

I'm a real beginner, and Daniela got me started on reading Italian to make sure that I had the proper accent with the letters. She also gave me distinctions on how to use phrases for the same meanings, such as Buona Sera vs. Buon Pommerigio, both being Good Afternoon. I'm looking forward to the continuing lessons.

Patient native speaker

I knew a few words, and Daniela took it from there. I will be much more confident now in my speaking ability and pronunciation. She built off of what I already knew.

Stiamo imparando or we are learning

This phrase helped my friend and I so much as we traveled to Roma, Firenze, Parma, Lago de Como, and Venezia. After 6 lessons, my friend and I ventured to Italy with what we called “survival Italian”. We learned the basics such as food, drink, buying things, ordering things, manners, and of course “mi dispiace” (I’m sorry) all from Daniela which opened doors for us everywhere we went. The people we talked to were so excited that we were trying to speak Italian, that they helped us along every step of the way. Daniela also gave us insider information for appertivos, gelato, espresso (both of which if you pay more than 2E you are getting ripped off). My friend Megan and I strongly recommend Daniela for any traveling you may be doing to Italy. She even provided text support to us while in Roma! We love Daniela and Italia!! Thank you so much!

Great first meeting - looking forward to more

I was nervous about my first class but didn't need to be nervous at all - Daniela was a fantastic teacher that instantly made me feel comfortable and ready to work on my rusty Italian. We had a very natural conversation where Daniela made suggestions on grammar and vocabulary, then dived deeper into a few grammar exercises that she picked based on my weaker areas. Primarily I want to be able to have some nice conversations during my upcoming trip to Italy, so this conversational approach was perfect and I look forward to weekly lessons.
