I am certified in Spanish and ESL. I have been teaching since 2005. My experience ranges from Advanced Placement Spanish to Bilingual Education, and Dual Language. I offer a learning environment that is student-centered by including hands-on, creative activities and high expectations. During a one-on-one lesson, you can look forward to a patient, passionate teacher. By the end of our session you will feel confident in what you have learned and excited about the subject. I am certified in Spanish and ESL. I have been teaching since 2005. My experience ranges from Advanced Placement Spanish to Bilingual Education, and Dual Language. I offer a learning environment that is student-centered by including hands-on, creative activities and high expectations. During a one-on-one lesson, you can look forward to a patient, passionate teacher. By the end of our session you will feel confident in what you have learned and excited about the subject. I also have six years of experience teaching online, so I know how to make online tutoring work in terms of helping students comprehend, making a connection and using the right software to make the lesson run smoothly. Right now I only offer virtual lessons using Zoom. My schedule is fairly full right now and I'm mostly available during the early morning or mid afternoon.

I had the best mentor in the world who is a literacy coach and is an expert in the field. The first step I take in helping students become better readers is to connect with them as individuals and use materials that peak their interest. I have been working with my student Kelsey (see Tim's review) for two school years and she went from reluctant reader to "What are we reading next?". She not only has in interest in reading now, but also markedly improved her MAP scores.

Great Start!

Appreciated that Nikki did a little homework finding out what my daughter liked and did not like to read. When we met for our first lesson, she had stuff ready to go and dive into reading. Not sure if my reluctant reading daughter liked it but I did.
