Bio

I am a retired law enforcement professional who has served in the US Army military police with duties of basic military police officer, patrol supervisor, desk sergeant, dispatcher, operations supervisor, traffic investigator, criminal investigator, security officer at a top secret missile base and corrections officer at Ft. Leavenworth Kansas. I served 5 years during the Vietnam era.

I am a retired law enforcement professional who has served in the US Army military police with duties of basic military police officer, patrol supervisor, desk sergeant, dispatcher, operations supervisor, traffic investigator, criminal investigator, security officer at a top secret missile base and corrections officer at Ft. Leavenworth Kansas. I served 5 years during the Vietnam era.

As a civilian I completed Ohio state police academy, federal law enforcement training and special weapons training. While serving as a Deputy Sheriff I was assigned to the fugitive task force searching for the most dangerous felons in the state. Also, I was assigned to the court room as a court room deputy maintaining security in the court. I also worked with the US Postal Inspection Service completed federal training with assignments as Postal Police Officer, Postal Police Supervisor and Investigative aide. In addition, I worked part time for a local police department assigned frequently to patrol community shopping mall assigned to car thefts unit as well as undercover assigned to various stores with in the mall.

Due to knee injury while on active duty was forced to resign my police commission. I was hired as security chief at local vocational school. I was assigned to hire and train part time security officers responsible to maintain a safe learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. I created a student photo id system which required all students to wear id badge on outside of clothing. I became a certified substitute and filled in for class room teachers who needed time off for personal or professional reasons. In addition, I created three successful life skills classes Introduction to military service, Intro to criminal justice, and Intro to business. Finally, I served as a high school baseball coach. I have the opportunity to work in two professions, criminal justice and teaching. My passion for criminal justice will continue to grow as a teacher.

As a criminal justice teacher I have a overall view of the entire criminal justice system. I have an Associate degree in law-enforcement, I can offer over twenty years experience as a police officer, criminal investigator and worked for several years in correction. Further, I understand the different levels of law-enforcement city, state and federal government. Each branch has its own particular requirements and job descriptions. My passion for teaching goes beyond reading books, I can offer practical experience that I can pass on to my students. Further, I can serve as a mentor who can answer specific questions about careers, different assignments and different agencies.
