I like to make learning fun, and my method of teaching writing is particularly effective. I help students with their essays for lots of classes from middle school through grad school but especially English, AP History, AP Art History, Humanities, and Philosophy. I also find helping students improve their SAT and ACT scores and write winning college entrance essays very rewarding. The materials I use for improving reading, vocabulary, and grammar skills work quickly to improve scores. I have some great success stories. Let me know if you'd like to see my references. And while I'm not a native speaker of French, I love the language and culture and am experienced and successful at teaching introductory French in ways that make it fun for young or old. I also enjoy teaching introductory Spanish. I have several Spanish students currently that can tell you how I have helped them to succeed in their high school Spanish courses. Let me know if I can help!

The Best!!

Ms. Julie has been of great help this past months. I would not have been able to get accepted to Yale without her help. She helped me with my essays from the beginning to the very end, always there through every step of the way. She also helped me with with anything I needed for my AP English class. She always finds the time to help me, even with my crazy schedule. She is truly the best!!

Great Tutor

Ms. Julie dame well prepared to help me study for my test and had many resources available for me. She helped me understand some vocabulary I didn’t know what they were about and made me figure out what they mean and I was able to then think about it on how my job goes. Awesome tutor!

Incredible resource!

Julie has always been awesome and just gave last-minute, late-notice Spanish help to our goddaughter that made all the difference before a final exam. Then she offered to be available after 8:30 PM the same day when she was done with other students if goddaughter needed more help. Thank you Julie!

Fun and knowledgeable

Julie is very fun and keeps things interesting as I read. Sometimes I feel like reading is monotone. I am learning how to change that. I will be asking for more lessens soon.

The Best Tutor I’ve Ever Worked With

Julie has been a phenomenal tutor the last year and a half we’ve been working together throughout my college experience. Because of her help, my grades have improved tremendously. Our sessions together consist of her helping with papers and readings assignments I struggle with. I haven’t met a tutor who is so dedicated to helping her students the way Julie has. I can’t thank you enough for everything, Julie! 100% would recommend to anyone who needs help with critical thinking assignments, papers, breaking down difficult readings, and analysis.

One of the best writing tutors on Wyzant

Julie H. Has been helping me with my writing. I first started using Julie as a tutor when applying for graduate school. I was totally clueless on how to write a statement of purpose, but Julie helped me get my thoughts down on paper and keep them organized. Thanks to Julie's lessons, I really feel that my writing skills have immensely improved.

I am working with Julie to prepare for my English AP exam. I could not be more pleased. Julie has great command over what is required to achieve on the SAT, and has given me the confidence I need to succeed.
