Bio

Need help with your chemistry course? I have 30 years of college-level chemistry teaching experience (including University Chem I and II at the U of A). I have tutored area high school and AP chemistry students who have gone on to succeed on the college and graduate level. One of my students earned the annual Chem. Dept. award at UA. Need help with your chemistry course? I have 30 years of college-level chemistry teaching experience (including University Chem I and II at the U of A). I have tutored area high school and AP chemistry students who have gone on to succeed on the college and graduate level. One of my students earned the annual Chem. Dept. award at UA. I am familiar with the chemistry curricula at Fayetteville, Rogers, and Bentonville high schools. I will help you develop the conceptual, mathematical, and problem-solving skills necessary to do well in your course.

In addition to teaching chemistry I have done chemical research involving fuel cell electrocatalysts and synthesis of transition metal pyridylimido complexes. I've also worked as a Scientific Information Analyst and have edited chemistry texts and educational materials for McGraw-Hill. In addition to teaching I love gardening, listening to music, and building my own off-the-grid straw-bale house!

I have a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry (Presidential Scholar, KSU 1995), and a B.A. in Chemistry and Math (Park College, 1988, Summa Cum Laude).

Great Teacher; Comprehensive

During our session, Pamela taught me much needed information for my AP chemistry class involving fundamental concepts for which I needed to solidify my understanding. She made sure everything I did was correct; she didn't want to leave any room for error, and I greatly appreciate that. Overall, based on this first session, she's an amazing tutor.

I was nervous going into my first lesson today because chemistry is definitely not my strong suit. By the end of my lesson, I felt like I had learned so much within the hour. I walked out feeling more confident and eager to learn more. She is very patient and has a hands-on/visual way of teaching which was perfect for me.
